POWERFUL KIERAN broke his maiden with a great performance on handicap level yesterday in Killarney, Ireland. In doing so, the three-year-old by PROTECTIONIST demonstrated the stamina that is well known in his sire's family. In an apprentice rave run over 2850 meters, the Joseph O'Brien's protégé scored confidently by three and a half lengths. POWERFUL KIERAN is out of the Great Palm-mare Ruby Isabel from the family of the two-time group winner and Sussex Stakes third-placed Scottish Reel.
