Derby co-favorite LAMBO great third in G2 Prix Hocquart

Considered the third favorite for this year's German Derby, LAMBO entered the starting gates in the €130,000 G2 Prix Hocquart for the first time in the colors of his new owners' association around Australian Bloodstock today. The PROTECTIONIST son, trained by Miroslav Rulec, ran an excellent race on Paris-Longchamp's soft going. Under Stéphane Pasquier, LAMBO was found in the leading group from the start and kicked off beautifully in the final straight where a thrilling, tight finish between three horses ensued out of which he emerged after 2200 metres three-quarters of a length behind the winner in third place.
