What a performance! Gestüt Westerberg bred LAMBO triumphed today with an impressive performance in the Bavarian Classic at Munich racecourse, became Protectionist's first group winner and gave his sire a co-favorite for the German Derby already in his very first three-year-old crop. Trained by Miroslav Rulec for Stall Schwarzwald, the PROTECTIONIST son kept the competition at bay in breathtaking fashion with a gate-to-wire run in the G3 challenge over 2000m. The race report noted a one and a quarter length advantage though jockey Adrie de Vries had already taken his hands down and allowed the colt to canter out before the finish post.
According to his trainer, Lambo could next start in the G2 Prix Hocquart on May 24 at Paris-Longchamp. We are absolutely thrilled for Protectionist, Lambo and his connections and cannot wait to watch this talented colt reach for the stars.
