Ridden by last year's jockey champion Bauyrzhan Murzabayev, LIBAN advanced to become the first 3yo winner for his sire PROTECTIONIST at Cologne today. The three-year-old colt, who is prepared by Peter Schiergen for Gestüt Haus Zoppenbroich, showed a strong final run in the initial maiden race over 2200m and secured a fine win with an advantage of three quarters of a length.
