Following a nine-month break, four-year-old SPORTING presented himself in winning form right away today in Berlin-Hoppegarten and recorded the second victory of his career. Prepared by Janina Reese for his breeders, Gestüt Paschberg, the PROTECTIONIST colt had Wladimir Panov in the saddle for a nice win in the Fashion Contest-Rennen, an allowance race over 1600 metres, where he beat his rivals by half a length in a thrilling three-horse finish.
